Backlog of Requests to Register Animal Origin Products Eliminated

The Department of Inspection of Animal Origin Products (Dipoa) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) has practically eliminated the queue of requests which were waiting for approval for more than 60 days. The goal of Dipoa is to guarantee that the waiting time for registration of animal origin products does not exceed 30 days.

The backlog of requests was eliminated because of a new Information Management/Federal Inspection Service system that was implemented, and the publication of a normative instruction, that regulated the registration of animal origin products.

After the publication of the normative instruction, Dipoa started implementing automatic registration of previously regulated animal origin products, bringing agility and transparency to the process of animal origin products registration and transferring the responsibility of compliance to the product manufacturers.
