Executive Secretariat of the Brazilian Chamber of Foreign Trade Placed Under the Competence of Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services

Through Decree 9.029, published on April 10, 2017 in Brazil’s National Gazette, the Executive Secretariat of the Chamber of Foreign Trade (Camex), which had been placed under the competence of the Ministry of Foreign Relations (Itamaraty) at the beginning of President Michel Temer’s mandate, has been redirected once again and is now under the jurisdiction of the Brazilian Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC).

The newly adopted regulation also granted MDIC the competence to approve the budget of the Brazilian Service of Support to Micro and Small Companies (Sebrae). Moreover, through Decree Decree 9.004, the Secretariat of Aquaculture and Fishery was also recently transferred from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) to be under the jurisdiction of the MDIC.
