Criteria for quotas allocation

On August 16, 2017, the Brazilian Government published some notices on the establishment of criteria for allocation of import quotas for Brazilian imports of Acrylic fiber, Monoisopropylamine, casein, peeled fruits and skipjack tuna classified as the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (tariff codes) 5503.30.00, 2921.19.23, 3501.10.00, 0802.22.00 and 1604.14.20, respectively.

According to the notices, the tariffs on imports of the above-mentioned products will continue to be 2% for a period of 12 months as of August 14, 2017. Additionally, the government clarified that each importer will be granted a maximum quota for the importation of each product, meaning that each importer can only import until a certain amount of the products listed below:

  • I do like the way you have presented this particular problem plus it does provide us some fodder for consideration. However, through what precisely I have personally seen, I only wish when the actual comments pack on that folks remain on point and in no way get started on a tirade regarding some other news du jour. Yet, thank you for this exceptional piece and whilst I do not necessarily go along with it in totality, I respect the point of view.
