Cuba, closer to economic liberalization

The Cuban Government published official notices on May 24, 2016, to recognize the opening of small and medium-sized companies in the country. This measure is part of the Cuban national plan to foster social and economic development.

The Cuban Government used to not recognize the private initiative; therefore, investment in the island was very bureaucratic, hampering the economic development in the country. The new measure aims to tackle this problem incisively, and enhance trade and investment in the benefit of the Cuban economy.

The measure promotes economic liberalization and demonstrates the Cuban interest of definitely becoming part of the capitalism system.
