South African Duty increase application on sulphates, alums, peroxides of copper

By Donald MacKay | Jul 25, 2021

Kimleigh Chemicals have applied for a duty increase on the above products, imported under tariff code 2833.25, from zero to 10%. I have no idea what these are used for, but based on their website, either mining, fertiliser, pesticides or animal feed.

The reasons given are that local producer(s) have to compete with low priced imports from Russia, China, Chile and Peru.

R94m was imported in the last year, so if you are impacted, be sure to give us a call.

Should you feel offended at the idea of paying 10% duty on your imports, then contact us on info@xa.co.za or partners@sideraconsult.com

Such offence should however be accompanied by a sense of urgency too, as we only have until 20 August 2021 to respond.
