Alleged dumping of laminated safety glass from China into South Africa

On 22 October ITAC, at the request of PFG Building Glass, launched an anti-dumping investigation on safety glass imported from China, classifiable under tariff subheading 7007.29 (Safety glass, consisting of toughened (tempered) or laminated glass; Laminated safety glass; Of size and shape suitable for incorporation in vehicles, aircraft, spacecraft or vessels: Other).

China accounted for over 90% of the imports of laminated safety glass for the 3 years from April 2018 to March 2021 (the period for injury assessment). In that period, import volumes increased by 100% over the period, while average import prices halved over the same period.

The respondents have until 22 November 2021 to respond.
