Antidumping Investigation on: PC strand in high carbon steel

The Secretary of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Foreign Trade published, on July 18th, a notice informing the opening of an antidumping investigation on the imports of pc strand in high carbon steel from China, classified under tariff code: 7312.10.90 of Mercosur Common Nomenclature – NCM.

According to the notice, Brazil does not consider China as market economy, therefore, the United States of America will be used as surrogate country for purposes of calculating the normal value. In this regard, interested parties will have 70 days from the initiation of the antidumping investigation to comment on the choice of the surrogate country.

Additionally, the Government made public that the injury analysis will comprise the period between January 2011 and December 2015.

The initiation of the investigation will be timely published by the Government.
