Brazilian Government Publishes Preliminary Determination of the Antidumping Investigation on PC Strand in High Carbon Steel Imports from China

The Brazilian Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (SECEX/MDIC) published today, on November 18, 2016, a public notice on the preliminary determination of the antidumping investigation on imports of PC strand in high carbon steel originating from China.

According to the notice, the preliminary determination was positive, meaning that, the Brazilian government concluded that there was a causal relation between the Chinese imports to Brazil and the alleged injury inflicted to the national industry during the period of investigation. The application of these duties requires an approval of the Brazilian Chamber of Foreign Trade (CAMEX – Câmara de Comércio Exterior).

If approved by CAMEX, the application of preliminary duties will be reported at Sidera’s webpage.
