Assessment of Scope on Garlic from China

On July 7, 2017 the Brazilian Government published the conclusion of their assessment of the scope of antidumping duties applied to Brazilian imports of garlic from China.

It was concluded that fresh garlic as well as frozen garlic imported by Brazil will be subjected to the application of an antidumping duty, regardless of classification.

The period of application of this duty is due to start October 2018. Therefore, it is expected that a sunset review will be initiated soon.

In order to avoid the extension of the measure for five more years or to reduce the duties applied, it is highly recommended that exporters start to prepare for the likely investigation as soon as possible.
