Brazilian Government Terminates the Sunset Review of a Common Food Additive

The Brazilian Government published today, on August 9, 2017, a notice terminating the sunset review on Brazilian imports of Monocalcium phosphate monohydrate from Argentina, classified under Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM) as 2835.26.00.

According to the notice, the investigation was terminated without the extension of antidumping duties for 5 more years, due to the lack of proof that would support the continuation of the alleged injury. The measure has been in force since 2005 and only now, after 12 years, has it has been terminated.

Monocalcium phosphate monohydrate is one of many food additives Brazil uses; it is derived from minerals that are vital to our health and wellbeing.
