Brazilian Chamber of Foreign Trade Discloses Mercosur Tariff Coding System for 2017

The Brazilian Chamber of Foreign Trade (CAMEX – Câmara de Comércio Exterior) published today, on December 15, 2016, a notice disclosing the new Harmonized Tariff Coding System 2017, which will be valid from January 1, 2017.

The new version includes adjustments of the Mercosur Harmonized Tariff Schedule (TEC), the Table of Tax Incidence over Industrialized Products (TIPI), the Exception List to the Mercosur Harmonized Tariff Schedule (LETEC) and the Exemption List of Informatics and Telecommunications (BIT).

The measure follows the recommendation of the World Customs Organization and has the objective of facilitating the adaptation of foreign trade operators.
