New antidumping investigation on: Polyurethane synthetic leather
The Secretary of Foreign Trade of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Trade published, today, July 21st, a notice informing about the opening of an antidumping investigation on the imports of polyurethane synthetic leather from China.
The investigation was requested by the national industry, through the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods (Assintecal). According with the Brazilian authorities, on a preliminary analysis, China has a dumping margin of 133,8%.
Additionally, the Brazilian Government made public the de decision of using Italy as surrogate country for purposes of calculating the normal value, since China is not considered a market economy by Brazil. In this regard, interested parties will have 70 days, from the initiation of the antidumping investigation, to comment on the choice of the surrogate country.
Exporters and importers will have 60 days, from the initiation of the investigation, to submit the investigation questionnaire to the Brazilian government.
