Brazilian Government Maintains the Tariff Reduction on the Imports of MDI
The Brazilian Government published today, on November 10, 2016, a notice on the maintenance of the tariff reduction on the Brazilian imports of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI), classified under the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (tariff code) 3909.30.20.
According to the notice, the tariff on the imports of MDI will continue to be 2 % for a period of 12 months as of the day of this publication.
Methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) is one of the most important chemical raw materials currently used in the polyurethane industry. It is one of the main chemical ingredients used in the manufacture of flexible polyurethane foams for bedding, industrial goods, living goods, sports goods, SPANDEX, shoe sole, TPU elastomers, synthetic leather, paint and adhesive.
