The first meeting of the Brazilian Association for the Promotion of Frozen Potatoes and Vegetables (ABBV) took place in Sidera’s HQ in São Paulo this afternoon.
Created in May 2016, ABBV has the goal of fostering the consumption of frozen vegetables and potatoes, and working as a group for a more coordinated industrial and trade policy agenda for the sector before the Brazilian Government.
According to Mr. Luiz Conde, President of the Association, “the establishment of ABBV is essential to ensure a better representation to the sector’s claims. As a first step, but definitely not the last, we have to face as a group the current antidumping investigation conducted by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Trade against European frozen fries.”
Sartori Advogados was the responsible for the establishment of the Association, while Sidera Consult will be leading the trade strategy of the group and some of the ABBV’s members.
