Event on the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and its Impacts on the Brazilian Foreign Trade to be held at the Britcham in São Paulo on October 20

The International Trade and Investments Committee of the British Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Brazil (Britcham) and Sidera Consult are pleased to invite you to their upcoming event “WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement: Impacts on the Brazilian Foreign Trade”, which will be held on October, 20, 2016,  at 9hoo, in São Paulo.

The objective of this event is to provide an overview of the impacts of the Trade Facilitation Agreement (“Bali Agreement”) on the Brazilian foreign trade. This trade agreement, signed by the members of the World Trade Organization unanimously in December 2013, aims to reduce global trade barriers. The agreement was ratified by the Federal Government of Brazil in March 2016 and will be one of the major tools in eliminating excessive bureaucratic barriers and in reducing costs for foreign trade operators.

The event will account with the presence of Mr. Flavio Augusto Trevisan Scorza, Director of the Department for Foreign Trade Competitiveness of the Brazilian Foreign Trade Secretariat, Mr. Omar Rached, Trade Facilitation Director of the International Trade Institute of Brazil and Mr. Alexandre de Oliveira Lira, Regulatory Affairs Director of the International Trade Institute of Brazil.

The International Trade and Investments Committee of the Britcham in São Paulo has the ambitious aim of establishing itself as a center of reference, information and debate for deep, but objective matters on international investment and trade, involving the leading experts in the field. It also has the objective of presenting the leading issues and demands addressed by the respective government agencies. It seeks to influence and assist the development of Brazilian trade, in addition to cooperation, trade relations and investments between Brazil and the UK. Moreover, the Committee intends to provide a networking platform for its members, associates and external public. Mrs. Carolina Ures, partner at Sidera Consult, currently chairs the Committee.
